Mac Studio Fix VS Natural Collection Concealers | Millylovesmakeup

Hi everyone,

After a late night or stressful times concealer is a makeup must! I hate having dark bags under my eyes and these two concealers are my most used. I normally have a concealer for day use and one for evening/night use. Having tested many concealers before, I always find myself going back to use the same products that work best with my skin tone.

Natural Collection Concealer - Fair
 £1.99
I have used many products from the Natural Collection range before but I always go back to buy there concealer. It lasts so well and the coverage is great. It does have a slight watery/ oily consistency but for everyday use it doesn't feel too heavy and it always conceals those horrible eye bags well! Overall it isn't as light as I would want but it does its job well!

Mac Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer - NC20
 £15.50
I have been using the studio finish concealer since June and I love it. It has a creamy consistency and it effectively covers skins blemishes, bad breakouts and dark circles. I mainly use mac products for a night out as I find the makeup is more photogenic and lasts better, it is definitely worth paying the extra money but not all the time.

Quality wise I perfer the Mac Studio Fix. I feel it overal is a better quality concealer and it last amazingly and I don't mind paying a little bit more for products if you know they work well!
Which concealer do you recommend?
Is it a branded or hightsteet name?

Travel Inspired Homeware Under £10 | Millylovesmakeup

Hello everyone,

So with moving house in less than a week, I am going crazy house shopping!
We wanted to connect our holiday with a room and we decided upon making one travel themed. I always like to have a look around first to compare prices as I feel you can sometimes get the same quality products for less. Everything shown in my picture cost £10 or under.

Silver Desk Lamp - Wilkos- £5
This desk lamp is similar to various lamps I have seen for much more. I originally wanted it to go on a desk but I think it would look good on a bedside table. I am considering going back for another one as I really like it and they had a few different colours.

Mini Globe -Tkmax - £5.99
This globe is so adorable, the colours don't do it justice on the picture but all the countries are quite vibrant and eye catching. I thought it was perfect size to place on a table or book shelf to go with our theme. I am in love with it!

Map Boxes - Tkmax - £5.99 (Small) & £9.99 (Medium)
How amazing are these beauties? They are such a great find and they are nice storage boxes. As soon as I saw them I knew I had to have them. I adore the map print and the text on the top of the boxes. The quality of the boxes is really good and they both hold a good amount inside.

Travel Journal - €1.99 - Amsterdam Airport
This little journal was my inspiration for the travel themed room, I purchased it in Amsterdam airport when we visited last month. I need to find out the name as I love it and I got a few other bits from there.

I can't pick a favourite item from this post as I love all my buys. I think the prices are brill and I can't wait to put them in my home, its 4 days to go until I move house and I am wanting to upload another home ware post in honour!

What do you think of my buys?
Speak soon,

Rimmel London Wonder'full Mascara Review | Millylovesmakeup

Hello everyone,

It was getting to that time again when I started to get fed up of using the same mascara day in day out and I fancied a change so I popped into boots. I decided to try out a different product and picked:

I have used many of Rimmel's products before and I use 'Brows this way' styling gel daily. The lid colour caught my eye as its coppery and the mascara is a good size. The applicator is flexible and ultra soft it also helps holds a lot of product. It always leaves my lashes feeling clump-free and extra long.

Since buying the product I have worn it daily for 2-3weeks. It is a long lasting product and it doesn't loosen or smudge through out the day unlike other mascaras. It helps to add length and volume and it also contains Argan oil helping to condition your natural lashes.
My natural lashes are very light and short. I religiously have them dyed every 3-4weeks, I always use a dark black mascara to help cover them and I feel this one is perfect!

Overall I feel like this is a lovely and reasonable product. I will continue to test out other but for now I am going to use this mascara for my everyday makeup. Have you tried this one before?
 Which mascara is your favourite?

Speak soon,

Vintage Retro Suitcases | Homeware collection | Millylovesmakeup

Hello everyone,

So recently I have been looking for Homeware with moving house..having gone away a few times this year I was inspired to do one of our rooms as a travel themed room and I had been looking up online and on Pinterest at various pictures/themes.

I really liked the idea of stacked suitcases to go with the travel theme and I have been looking online to buy them but they aren't cheap to buy!
I have been on the hunt for a while but recently found a local place selling things  on from house clearances and managed to get 3 suitcases for £5 each. Then I managed to win the large brown suitcase on eBay for £3. I also brought the largest, blue suitcase from a local antiques store for £20.
I love the look of them and I like the fact that they all have a history to them. I am going to keep looking out for them as I think they look very effective and They are great for storage. I am thinking of storing various things in them such as cards, bedding, wrapping paper and other items as I am wanting them in my front room.

I have managed to stack them in an order I like and I am going to sort out properly when we move! I have already started filling them up ready for the move as its only 9 days away and I can't wait!

I will post again soon about my other Homeware buys..
What kind of storage ideas do you have?

Speak soon,
Milly xx

Amphora Aromatics Seaweed & Aloe Eye Gel | Product review

Hello everyone,

So way back in June I was send some lovely products from Amphora Aromatics from a lady named Sophie.

'Amphora Aromatics is one of the UK's largest suppliers of pure essential oils and aromatherapy products'. They have a wide range of products ranging from oils, creams and moisturisers to perfumes and roll-ons.

The product I tested-  Seaweed & Aloeeye gel. Along with the gel I kindly received two samples a Tea Tree Gel and Almond and Sandalwood hand cream.

Seaweed & Aloe - Refreshing Eye Gel 50ml

The gel is a natural and gentle makeup remover and it also helps to smooth and cool your eyes. The product packaging is very natural with very neutral colours. The size of the eye gel is 50ml and it comes in a little bottle with a pump lid. It's perfect travel size as its under 100ml and would be great to freshen up on a long hall flight. When using the gel the sizes that come out is really reasonable and goes along way so you don't need that much product when applying. The gel is a light green colour, it is very weightless and scentless but is cooling when applied onto skin.

You apply the product with your fingers and remove with damp cotton pads. Because of the Aloe Vera juice and cucumber extract the gel is really refreshing and helps to reduce eye puffiness and redness. I found it really helped soothe my eyes when removing makeup and it didn't sting like some remover products.

I enjoyed using both the samples too. The Almond and Sandalwood hand moistoriser was my favourite it is really rich and smells like bakewells plus I found it did help to hydrate my hands and cuticles.

Overall I enjoyed using the products and I will continue to use the eye gel as I found it helped. Thanks to Aropha Aromatics for sending me the products to test.

Speak soon,
Milly xx

Weekend Break In Amsterdam

So about two weeks ago me and Shane and our friends, Charlie and Naz visited Amsterdam for the weekend. Its somewhere we have all always waned to visit so one afternoon we decided to book!

Amsterdam is a lovely city the canals are cute and the food is tasty. We stayed Saturday- Monday in an Apartment. There is plenty to do for a weekend over there but unfortunately the weather wasn't too good for us as we weren't able to sight see as much as we wanted!

We flew from Manchester Airport to Amsterdam overall the flights were good and flight time is around 45mins to an hour. The trains are really simple from Amsterdam airport straight into the centre and go out every few minutes.
The food is amazing in Amsterdam we went to a few restaurants which were lovely, the food is reasonable for the amount you get. There is a lot of food places in Amsterdam to pop into for a meal and theres loads of places you can grab some chips or snacks whilst your walking around.

If you visit Amsterdam you have to go to the Red Light District as it looks great at night with all the lights but it is slightly scary! We also went to the Sex Museum which was funny and I would recommend doing as it was so cheap. We had wanted to hire a bike out but the bikers are crazy, they are everywhere and we nearly got ran over.
I would recommend going and I would like to go back.

Until next time,
Thanks for having us Amsterdam here is a few snaps from our weekend!

Be Happy & Smile- Life Update

Hello everyone,

How crazy is it that we are already over half way through 2015? This year (like every other year) is going so quick and as I am growing older I am starting to realise more that you have to make the most of life as it can be taken away from you at anytime. I won't make this post depressing but life is so precious so make the most of every second!

I have over 4,000 pictures on my phone and I love looking back at them. I will continue to take so many more as I enjoy doing it and I love being able to look back so easily at instant memories.
Everyone go through there own little journey and personally I love looking through albums upon albums of my life journey so far.

This year I wanted to do as much as I can and I still want to travel as there is so much more I want to see and do. My advise to anyone is to not compare yourself with anyone else and be the best you can be. No one is the same and as you grow older you do realise that more. Do what you want to do and be who you want to be and don't forget to be...

This year has definitely been my best year so far, just encase you haven't already seen I went to the Maldives in June and it was the most surreal experience ever, I loved it. I also went to Amsterdam in July which was great. I am happy that I was able to experience both those experiences this year and I want to travel and do much more!

Also I have recently been like a little squirrel collecting home ware and items for moving as myself and my Fiance will be moving into our first house in two weeks time! I can't wait for us to have our own house together and I have been loving collecting things ready for the move. Everything is happening so quickly and I can't wait. I am hoping to be able to blog more when we move and this also means I will have a lot of upcoming posts about moving and home ware!
Anyway, talk soon

The week I spent in the MALDIVES..

Hello everyone,
I am back and I have been super busy, so much has happened since I last blogged! Since I have been gone I visited the Maldives back in June and it was the most amazing time of my life…

My boyfriend had surprised me by booking the holiday for my birthday. He had booked and planned everything. I have always wanted to go to the Maldives and now I can say that it truly is the most beautiful place on earth.
Firstly we flew with Quatar Airways from Manchester Airport to Doha (7hour flight) then on to Malé (4 and a half hour flight) which we then got a speed boat over to our island called Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi. I had never flew long hall before but the airline was fab, we had plenty of room and food. I would highly recommend flying with Quatar and travelling as much as you can!

Upon landing you can see the beautiful islands of the Maldives and when we got off the last flight the heat hit us, its so warm and humid! We were both buzzing with excitement and when we reached our island, we were greeted with an amazing refreshing cocktail and a towel. All the staff during our stay were wonderful. For the entire week we just couldn't believe our eyes as the views were stunning..

During our stay we stayed in a beach hut for 3 nights and then we upgraded to an Ocean Villa for 4nights. I would highly recommend booking an Ocean Villa or upgrading as that was truly amazing!
Considering we were there for a week the weather was great for us, we did a lot of snorkeling, swimming and exploring the island. We were also all exclusive so we could get a drink or snack whenever we wanted.. I just wish I could go back tomorrow.

Whilst we were there on the 5th night Shane proposed in the Ocean Villa and booked a private meal on the beach to celebrate, that was the most magical night of my life!
Me and Shane met in high school when I was 12 and he was 13 and we have been inseparable ever since then. We had spoke about engagement but I honestly had no idea he was going to propose!

We had the best time ever in the Maldives, we met some amazing people, made amazing memories and ate some amazing food! We are currently saving to visit again or even tie the knot over there!

Most our pictures and videos where filmed with the Gopro Hero 4 and we are currently editing the videos ready for my YouTube!
